We enjoyed an excellent and flavorful meal here. I ate at Husk in Charleston several years ago and had an out of this world experience. Our Husk Savannah experience was delicious and the building is perfectly aligned to the food. Unfortunately, service and experience missed the mark. The staff didn't seem to have great communication and they just weren't very hospitable overall. No one was rude, but they all seemed exhausted and/or indifferent. Very rushed and no time for pleasantries. The pimento cheese and salad were to die for though!
Gorgeous restaurant that has a new menu every night! Fabulous service by a large, friendly staff. Our party enjoyed a dozen delicious oysters, grouper tartare, Pork Tenderloin, Swordfish and Grouper in an asparagus purée. Tables are amply spaced to provide a wonderful experience. The restaurant also offer a few private rooms.
We have been to Husk for brunch. This was the first time we've had dinner here. We were seated upstairs in the ballroom. The aesthetic is beautiful. Our service was friendly and informative. We had some delicious cocktails from the menu. I've attached pics of our various meals. We all enjoyed our meals. My husband ordered the strip steak and he wasn't 100% happy. But it was cooked to order. We think it's that he is not used to grass fed beef. It was chewy. I have the striped bass and our friend had the swordfish. We loved everything!!! I would definitely go back again!!!
If you're looking for a classy southern meal in downtown Savannah, look no further than Husk. This restaurant was recommended to us by the American Express concierge, so we reserved. Husk is unique because every day, the menu changes based on what's available in the area and what is in season. We were looking forward to seeing the menu on the day we dined! For an appetizer, we ordered a couple of raw oysters and a side of biscuits. My boyfriend loved the oysters and the biscuits were to die for. We both ordered the bass for our meal and were satisfied with flavor. Our server was very helpful and kind and not to mention, the food came fast. We were in and out in just about an hour, though this is a place you might want to spend some time in and spread out courses. Our total was just over $100 for two meals and 2 appetizers. We highly recommend!
Solid dinner last night for my first Husk experience at any of their locations. I started with their selection of raw oysters, followed that with the Wreckfish Tartare (which was my favorite dish of the night), and finished with the Florida Tilefish entree, which I really only ordered for the Carolina Rice that came with the dish. The Carolina Rice was delicious! I read that it is a grain from Africa and S. Carolina is the only place that grows the grain in the states. The tile fish fell short of expectations on flavor and texture. I asked for the Beurre Blanc on the side because of my lactose intolerance. I added a bit to the fish. I don't think I would have enjoyed it more with the full serving. The Wreckfish tartare is made with strawberries, which I think really elevated it. It was so good and paired well with the Daq Black cocktail, which wasn't planned. I just with the tartare had a vessle to eat it with, like toast points, crackers, or some form of corn chips. The oysters were good. I ordered three of the Salt Bombs because they are so rare to find here, and they may have been my least favorite. The Square Root cocktail is brilliant! It is made with carrot, aloe, green chile, cilantro, and a Plantation rum blend. It hits on all 5 taste senses! The Daq Black was smoky, likely from the Mezcal, and the Gringo Suave was also good, but the Square Root was the star cocktail. Cody was my bartender and took great care of me. He was very knowledgeable and attentive. I was happy to finally cross a Husk restaurant off of my bucket list.
I finally made it to Husk! I heard wonderful things about Husk in Charleston, so was stoked to learn that there was a Husk location in Savannah. Immediately, I made reservations and was only able to snag a dinner spot for three at 8:30 on a Friday a week out. Make reservations ASAP for an ideal time and day if you wanna dine here. It's a popular spot, all for good reason. Husk is located in an old Georgian house in the historic district in Savannah, which I loved. It really felt like going to dinner at a friend's really nice house! Because of our reservation, we had a table ready for us on the upper level. Our server, Morgan was really friendly and helpful throughout our entire meal. The menu changes daily, depending on what ingredients are available, which is a good thing because you're getting the freshest and locally-sourced food. We had a bottle of the Carolina Sake, which we had to try! The Carolina Sake is exclusive to the area with a limited supply, so it was a treat to try this sake, made from South Carolina rice. For appetizers, we had local Georgia oysters, which had a fresh, pickled mignonette on top. For my entrée, I ordered the pork loin curry greens, which was delicious. The pork was perfectly looked with collard greens in a coconut curry sauce that elevated the meal. All in all, everything was fantastic as I expected it to be at Husk. This is the kind of restaurant where you can get anything on the menu and it will be superb. I enjoyed dining in a historic home where each of the rooms were set up for multiple parties. I would love to try the other Husk locations in the south and explore what's on the daily menu.
Wow, Wow, Morgan our waiter was excellent! And that food was outstanding and probably the best I've had this year (Feb 2024), so memorable that trout with blue crab velouté sauce, superb! The pork loin was excellent as well, tasty and tender. The oysters Scermel with daikôn were sweet & complex flavor only you can get here and local! We got seated by windows on both corners on the second floor with a nice fireplace and was probably the best seat in the house! Waiting on pecan tart...!!! Pecan tart was amazing!!!! Merci, Anthony Bourdain, love you shared your fav/friend Sean Brock's in the South. Incidentally, chef from a high end resto in Maclean also raved of this gem...
My absolute favorite restaurant of all time. I stop here every time I'm in Savannah. From the setting (it's a historic southern gothic style building), to the perfect service, you just can't go wrong. The seafood tower is a MUST! GA peel and eat shrimp w old bay and Alabama white BBQ sauce. Smoked trout dip. Caviar w Johnny cakes, creme fresh, egg yolk, vinegar, green onions. An assortment of unbelievable oysters. Blue fin tuna sashimi. Hamachi crudo. It's like Poseidon rounded up all the greatest seafoods and delivered them in this epic tower. For dinner we all shared the NC Trout w pancetta in a king crab chowder (this was gone in under 30 seconds), the prime strip loin w carrots and bernaise, and the bolognese. All mind blowing. For drinks - we love the local rally point Pilsner as a light palate cleanser throughout the meal. For dessert - the best espresso martini I've ever had (along with caramel ice cream and a chocolate pecan pie slice)
Husk is an upscale dining experience with a menu that may not be suitable for those picky eaters, however if you appreciate food you may want to check this place out! We had to make a reservation well in advance before visiting, but were lucky to get in and sat upstairs in the main dining. It's located in a old home, so you get all the southern vibes inside. Their menu can change daily based on different offerings. We started off with cocktails and caviar. The caviar was served with mini cornbread pancakes, which was a fun touch. As a group we had brussels sports, Shrimp & Grits, Beet Salad, and the Prime Strip. All were delicious. Our server was great and helped answer any questions and find something on the menu for our one picky eater. Husk is one of those places all visitors love to try and locals recommend.
